A legacy of service
Grant is the fourth generation of the Schwabe family to practice law in Oklahoma and beyond, carrying forward a tradition of legal service that began in 1911.
Grant’s great-grandfather, George Blaine Schwabe, began practicing law in Oklahoma in 1911. He served as mayor of Nowata, represented Nowata County in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, and served as Speaker of the House in 1921 and 1922.
After moving to Tulsa in 1922, George continued his legal practice and later represented Oklahoma’s First Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives during the 79th, 80th, and 82nd Congresses. Today, Grant carries that tradition forward in Tulsa through AG Schwabe PLLC—grounded in service, preparation, judgment, and respect for the law.

Grant is a Tulsa trial lawyer, business counselor, and former Assistant United States Attorney with more than two decades of experience guiding clients through complex disputes, investigations, and consequential legal decisions.
Over the course of his career, Grant has represented a remarkably broad client base—from numerous large institutional clients and Fortune 500 companies to regional and local businesses, closely held enterprises, business owners, executives, and individuals. He handles matters carrying significant operational, financial, and reputational consequences and has first-chaired complex commercial cases through every phase—from presuit investigation, pleadings, and fact development through discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, hearings, trial, settlement, mediation, and appeal. His experience in more than 65 state and federal appeals gives clients the benefit of an appellate perspective from the beginning of a matter, when strategy and preservation decisions can shape the ultimate result.
Grant has particular depth in banking and financial-services litigation. For more than 20 years, banks, mortgage companies, loan servicers, creditors, and other institutional clients have relied on him in contract disputes, lender-liability claims, real-estate matters, bankruptcy-related proceedings, servicing disputes, and regulatory litigation. His work frequently requires detailed analysis of loan documents, mortgages, servicing histories, title materials, contracts, business records, and statutory claims arising under laws such as RESPA, TILA, FDCPA, and HOEPA.
During his service in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma, Grant advised Department of Justice and federal-agency decision-makers on affirmative and defensive civil matters involving the False Claims Act, government contracting and procurement, health care, cybersecurity, grants, civil rights, conflicts of interest, civil asset forfeiture, tort claims, and constitutional issues. He coordinated confidential, document-intensive matters with federal agencies, investigators, subject-matter experts, and other stakeholders while developing litigation strategy and written recommendations.
Grant is known for making complicated matters understandable and actionable. He has directed electronic-record workflows involving several terabytes of data, managed outside experts and third-party vendors, prepared witnesses and exhibits, developed budgets and discovery plans, and delivered practical risk and settlement recommendations to institutional clients and executive decision-makers. His approach combines disciplined preparation, business judgment, clear communication, and an unwavering focus on the client’s objectives.
Before founding AG Schwabe PLLC, Grant served as a partner or shareholder at Pray Walker, Hall Estill, Riggs Abney, and Kivell, Rayment & Francis. His early legal experience included clerkships with an Oklahoma district judge and the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals, as well as service with the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office. He earned his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law, along with a Resources, Energy & Environmental Law Certificate and CALI Awards in Oil & Gas Law, International Petroleum Transactions, and Professional Responsibility. He received his B.A. in Classical History from the University of Oklahoma.
